Chicago, IL … Over the years, the area known as the Read-Dunning property has gone through many different plans for future development.  However, this year a plan for building a new Veterans home has become a reality.  Governor Pat Quinn along with State Representative Michael McAuliffe (R-Chicago) will announce this site selection at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the property located at 4200 N. Oak Park Avenue, Chicago.

“There is a real need in Chicago to provide more services for our veterans, including another residential home for them. I am happy to finally to bring this plan to fruition.  This veterans home is something that has been in the planning stages for years and I applaud all of the people who have contributed to this complex issue. The new home will help meet the needs of our veteran community,” said McAuliffe.
