Springfield, IL … Legislation to allow global positioning satellite tracking to be used on domestic abuse offenders who violate orders of protection, sponsored by State Representative Michael McAuliffe, recently passed the Illinois House of Representatives and the Senate. It now awaits a decision by the Governor.

Senate Bill 2719 (formerly House Bill 3038) was created in response to the murder of Cindy Bischof who was fatally shot in March outside her Elmhurst real estate office by a former intimate partner who stalked her for 10 months.
